Are there funded PhD positions available?

What backgrounds are you looking for in PhD applicants?
PLACEHOLDER: We welcome students from diverse backgrounds including geography, GIScience, computer science, data science, environmental science, civil engineering, and related fields. A strong interest in geospatial AI and natural hazards is more important than a specific background.
When should I apply to the PhD program?

How long does it take to hear back after sending an inquiry?
PLACEHOLDER: We try to respond within 1–2 weeks. Due to the volume of inquiries, we may not be able to respond to all messages individually. If you haven't heard back in 2 weeks, a gentle follow-up is welcome.
